AI Refund Insights is a Shopify application that helps merchants analyze refund activity, identify refund patterns, and generate refund-related insights and recommendations.
2. Information We Process
When a merchant installs and uses AI Refund Insights, the application may process information provided through Shopify APIs that is necessary to provide its refund analytics functionality.
- Shop and store information needed to operate the application.
- Order and refund information.
- Refund reasons, notes, amounts, and refunded line-item information.
- Shopify customer identifier (pseudonymized ID) when available and necessary for repeat refund analytics. Customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses are not collected or stored.
3. How We Use Information
We use this information to provide the application's merchant functionality, including refund analytics, customer refund insights, refund categorization, reporting, and recommendations.
We do not use customer information collected through Shopify for advertising or targeted marketing.
4. AI Processing
AI Refund Insights may use Google Gemini to analyze refund information and generate refund categories and recommendations.
Customer names and email addresses are not included in the information sent to Gemini for refund analysis.
5. Data Retention
Refund records are intended to be retained for up to 12 months for historical refund analytics. Records may be deleted earlier when required by applicable privacy requests, shop redaction, or app uninstallation.
